"Nearly 1.7 million kg were sold at average price of 82.79 taka per kg, down 0.55 taka from the last sale. The withdrawal percentage was 4.67," said an auctioneer.
Buyers from Afghanistan, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Pakistan and Bangladesh participated in the auction.
"(But) the Afghan buyers did not operate while Pakistan and CIS were also selective, and as a result the average price slid," said a market report by the National Brokers Limited, the country's largest tea broker.
